The pandemic is still not over. There is great economic unrest everywhere in the world. Massive murder hornets are another issue that people should be worried about.

The massive hornets can grow up to 2 inches and their venomous stings can kill about 50 people per year. Even though these hornets originate from eastern and southeastern Asia, they have also spread to Canada and Washington State.

Susan Cobey, a bee breeder at the Department of Entomology at the University in Washington State, described these hornets as giant monsters with orange-yellow heads.

Also, Todd Murray, an entomologist, and species specialist stated that the giant hornets are hazardous for both the humans and honey bees. It is thought that the massive hornets can decimate beehives with their spiked-shark mandibles.

A handful of dead specimens were noticed in Whatcom County in Washington last year. According to the local authorities, giant hornets have been found also found out in British Columbia and on Vancouver Island. The authorities sent some specimens to be analyzed in Japan`s laboratories, where it was confirmed that they belong to the group of massive Asian hornets.

Scientists have also found out some facts about these murder hornets. They can grow up to 2 inches and their venomous stings are equal to the venomous snakes.

To prevent the giant hornets from setting up a foothold, authorities are planning to make and hang traps on trees in the following months. Local beekeepers and scientists decided to help the Washington State Department of Agriculture in their initiative to trap hornets.

Murray also added that it is essential to teach people how to recognize these murder hornets. He thinks this is the only way to eradicate the hornets on time.
